Masai Mara is located in south-west Kenya and is one of Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserves. Together with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania it forms Africa’s most different, marvelous and most outstanding Eco-systems and possibly the world’s top safari viewing Eco-system.
It is named in honor of the Masai people. It is worldwide famous for its exceptional grouping of Masai lions, Tanzanian cheetahs and African leopards and the annual migration of zebra, Thomson's gazelle, and wildebeest to and from the Serengeti every year.

The Mara is known as one of the finest wildlife destinations in the World. There is an first-excellent chance of seeing the cheetah, serval, bat-eared foxes, hyena, black-backed and side-striped jackals, crocodile, baboons, hippo, warthog, eland, Thompson’s gazelle, Grant’s gazelle, impala, waterbuck, reed-buck, zebra.
During the migration (July to November) huge numbers of wildebeest move in.

It’s just about 270 km from the capital Nairobi City and takes about 4-5 hours by road or 40-45 minutes by flight. The road is good for the most part. there is a section from Narok town to Sekenani Gate that is soil road but fairly good. The other road through Lemek and Aitong town is not good at all and very rough.

With the wildebeest migration in JULY – OCTOBER, this is the best time to see this unbelievable movement of animals. Although it is not secured that the wildebeest get to Masai Mara, it has yet to let us down. Also, December to February are great times as it is good for the Big Cats.
The Masai Mara National Park is an all year global destination with the big cats, and all the big game still in the Masai Mara Ecosystem.

A THREE to FOUR day safari is suitable for just the Masai Mara. If you are fascinated in photography the longer you stay the more chance of getting the crowning photo.

We also recommend that you add on a few more days to see more of Kenya which include the Amboseli National Park, Tsavo West National Park , Tsavo East National Park, Northern Kenya. Why not add some beach too like the Watamu Beach & Diani Beach.
